Our newest WordPress plugin recommendation is GoCodes!

GoCodes is a plugin from WordPress.org that allows you to create custom URL shortcuts and track the amount of hits they are getting.  You can create a URL shortcut for any location on the web and track it through your WordPress admin console!

Another great benefit is that the shortcut URL you create always has your blog name in it so people are constantly going through your site to get to other web locations.

How GoCodes works

This tool really works great for affiliate links, which tend to be very long and non-descriptive.  When you create a URL shortcut you can make it more descriptive of the link destination.  For example if you wanted to create a shortcut for an affiliate link that allows people to purchase stock photography your new link could look like this:

http://yourblogname/go/stockphotography

You now have a shorter more descriptive URL that you can easily email out, or post on social media sites.
