1. From your page or post where you would like to insert the player, have your cursor where you want to insert the video player and click on any of the Upload/Insert icons along the top of the edit box.

2. Then you are going to click on the “External Media” tab.

3. You will enter the YouTube link in the box provided.  You will need to make sure your YouTube video is in the proper format for it to work properly.

In most cases your YouTube video link may look like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=iAfQhhmjfjY

However you need to have it look like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAfQhhmjfjY

The feature=player_profilepage& needs to be deleted from the link.

So the formula that you need to have is  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=(and the video code here)

5. After you have entered the correct URL clicked the “Add Media” button.  This will then take you an editing window where you can edit information about your video.  In most cases it will pull information from YouTube about the video and add it for you.

6. After you everything the way you want it you need to click the blue “Insert JW Player” button NOT the grey “Insert into Post” button.  If you don’t click this blue button the player will not work properly.

7.  The player will be automatically added to your post or page.

The Twenty Ten theme was one of our favorites for it’s CSS flexibility.  However I think we have fallen in love with the new Twenty Eleven WordPress theme.  If you know CSS then this theme is for you.  It features CSS gradient menu backgrounds – very cool!  You can control and change every feature of the blog through the extremely well organized style sheet.  Other features include a showcase page to highlight your best content and a custom “Ephemera” widget to display your Aside, Link, Quote, or Status posts.  On the downside it doesn’t come with very many widget “extras” like social media or SEO but you can easily download a plugin to add that functionality to this theme.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) was originally defined as the activity of optimizing web pages or whole sites in order to make them more search engine-friendly, thus getting higher positions in search results. At the core it was directed to the “natural” or unpaid search results. This is often referred to as “Organic SEO” The term has been very loosely abused to mean Internet marketing in general and often includes “paid” services to search engines for higher rankings.

Today, this is just the beginning.  SEO has come to mean a larger and more complex list of activities and tasks that reflect the expanding algorithms used by Google and other search engines. Optimization can now mean a number of things but it originally referred to the “things you do to your web pages that help the search engine index your web page”. The  “things you do”  has now expanded to time consuming processes that many website owners nolonger have the time to do and run their businesses.  This “to do” list includes:

• Social Media Marketing through services like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn

Social Media has been around in limited ways for a long time but lately it has exploded into a world of itself. In the past there were “News Groups”, “Forums” and “Discussion Groups” that allow people of like mind to share and network.
